Howe Sound – Bowen Island – Dorman Point Sea Mount Deep Dive
Located off Bowen Island by Vancouver, BC Canada
The main goal of this dive was to capture HD footage of rare Glass Sponges recently located in Howe Sound. These sponges form a ‘Bioherm’ on top of the Sea Mounts. The footage brought some perspective into how big these structures are in comparison with a diver.
Interesting as well for the scientists was the direct depth to life comparison. Dorman point had up until now only been dived and documented within recreational depths.
WEEFINE lights Canada sponsored the video equipment and lighting gear to capture amazing footage and guarantee another successful mission down to 260 feet.
Video equipment used were 2 GoPro’s inside Rec Sea’s GoPro Deep Housing.
